The Raven quilt top complete! from Bizarre Quilter

Is it every really possible to snap a photo of a quilt without the dog in it? Or in this case the dog's bum?

Or the wind blowing?? I think these are iconic photos that need to be remembered. Haha.

Oh look, the dog's face~!

And don't forget the trampoline...

Feeling super happy that this is going to be finished in time to hang on the wall for all of October! Time to send it to Mum. What am I using on the back? Hmm.Will go for a rummage.

The Raven installment from Bizarre Quilter

That's a lot of foundation piecing put together! The entire top row and the sides of the top.

I decided to reverse the black and yellow. I wanted the black next to the blocks, much like the black sashing surrounds the blocks, and creates a yellow star at the cornerstones.

Proud of my achievements! Still working on the centre house block. The bottom row is next.

The Raven Update from Bizarre Quilter

The Raven quilt is getting closer and closer to completion. There are quite a few foundation pieced parts to add to the borders... I am looking forward to having this up for Halloween this year!

I am determined and focused to keep on.

Progress on "The Raven" quilt from Bizarre Quilter

Still a few details to go on some of these blocks - a leaf or two, a few berries.  I am finally up to the "most difficult" block, which is a house.

I use the freezer applique needleturn method, which means that i need the design to be reversed. Well guess what, the house in the centre is not quite symmetrical.

I really had to jiggle to get the yellow fabric underneath in the right spots.

I am super glad I left this to be the final block, because it's giving me the push I need to complete it. The ...

Unfinished Projects from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

This is kind of surprising for me . . in a good way. I only have five unfinished cross stitch projects! On the other hand, I only have five completed projects but I hope to whittle down those unfunished projects, though I certainly wouldn’t mind if I kept five UFOs. That’s a workable number for...

Blackbird Design SAL from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Brenda and the Serial Starter are two very funny ladies whose flosstubes I love. They aren’t the ones who try to be funny but they crack me up. Brenda is more reserve, more methodical. Laura . . oh, my! She buys every chart, the fabric, the floss and she starts so many projects .. hence,...

Miss Emilie's Sampler and Samples From the Past from Log Cabin Quilter

All the blocks are done for "Miss Emilie's Garden".  Now they need trimmed, sashing added and then to applique the borders.

Whoops on the photo above.  The picture turned out blurry but you get the idea of what it looks like.

And now a start on another applique project.  The two blocks below are from a pattern by Blackbird Designs with Cherie Ralston.  The pattern set is "Samples From the Past".  The Miss Emilie blocks will finish at 8 inches.  The new blocks will finish at 20 inches so larger in size and a longer amount of time to ...

March Quilting from Janet Ann Creations

Appliqué always gives me a sense of peace.

The simple act of keeping my hands busy with needle work
and listening to books on tape has been my savior
during the Stay at Home directive in MA.

I've been making masks and mailing them to family and friends,
while watching the virus hit this country with such force,
my heart goes out to all those working on the front lines.

Currently I'm working on a number of projects...
never seem to finish anything - but making good progress on them!

The last block of 'The Raven' is complete.

The ...

Buhl Quilt Update and Farmer's Market from Log Cabin Quilter

March found me still working on the top border for the Buhl quilt.  The monthly patterns have divided the borders into parts so the applique is manageable to be able to accomplish before the next set of patterns is available.  This month, I added the flower on the left and two flowers on the right hand side.

I started working on a new quilt project.  It is "Farmer's Market" and is found in the Blackbird Design's book "Fresh Picked".    There are ten applique blocks.  Five designs and you make two of each.  The second set is reversed from ...
